Transportation

By Car or Moped

The car, although more expensive than public transportation, is ideal for exploring every corner of the island and discovering its many hidden beauties. You can easily, quickly, and affordably rent a car and pick it up at the port or airport. Renting a car or moped is an excellent solution to move around Mykonos at your own pace. Rent a car for your entire stay or just part of it. You’ll find several car rental companies, many of which offer special rates. For the rental, you’ll need to provide a valid driver’s license, issued in your country of residence at least one year prior  (some companies require 2 years). If your license was issued with supplementary documents, you should provide these as well. If your license was not issued in an EU/EEA country, you may need an international driving permit.

Boat / Sea Bus

As on many Greek islands, boats are a very comfortable and popular means of touring the most beautiful  beaches on the island. They are reliable and safe, while the ticket is very affordable. It is the ideal way to transport you without rush to the magical and world-beloved sandy beaches of southern Mykonos. From Platis Gialos beach, located in the south, 3 km from Chora and one of the most popular beaches, caiques depart for short excursions to the neighboring beaches of Paraga, Paradise, Super Paradise, Agrari, and Elia. A ride you shouldn’t miss.

Connection between old and new port
The connection between the Old Port (Chora) and the New Port (Tourlos) is made by sea buses, which run every half hour, allow luggage transport, and are accessible to people with disabilities. The ticket costs 2€. The boarding/disembarking points are at the New Port (Tourlos bridge), the Tourlos Marina (Mathios tavern), and the Delianon pier.
Contact phone: 22890 23051.
