The Municipal Cinema “Cine Manto” was created in 1995 by the Municipality of Mykonos, within the Municipal Garden of Meletopoulos, the only green space in our city (Donated by I. Meletopoulos to the Municipality of Mykonos in 1957).

Its purpose was to enrich the use of the garden with a cultural activity without changing or altering its character as a recreational space.

The garden was designed in such a way that the open-air cinema could operate while changing the garden’s morphology as little as possible.
An internal pathway connects the cinema area with the back of the garden where there is an old church and a dovecote that has been converted into a canteen and operates from morning to night. The cinema operates from June 1st to early October and shows a wide variety of films, such as premieres, Oscar-winning films, other major commercial successes, various tributes to contemporary Greek productions, and many children’s films.
